About Livin' Large

College is a time in life to try new things, venture out on your own, meet new people—and generally to live large! That’s what the Chevy Aveo Livin’ Large program has been all about since it first arrived on college campuses in the fall of 2006 in the form of the Chevy Aveo Livin’ Large Campus Challenge and later during the Chevy Aveo Livin’ Large Road Trip.

For our third installment of the Chevy Aveo Livin’ Large program, known as the Chevy Aveo5 Livin’ Large College Cab, we’ll be sending brand new 2009 Chevy Aveo5s to six universities across the country. These Aveo5s will serve as “cabs” giving free rides to students on these campuses.

While in the Aveo5 College Cab, students will knowingly be filmed via the interior “Cab Cam.” Their short video clip will be posted the next day to their school’s video gallery at www.AveoLivinLarge.com. They will have exactly one week from the date and time their video is posted to get as many people as possible to view their video. At the end of those seven days, their video’s view counter will be frozen. The student(s) with the most views on their video from their school will see their video advance to a final round of competition.

During this final round, the most viewed video from each of the six universities the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab visited will compete from Nov. 10-14, 2008, for votes. The student(s) in the video with the most votes (not views) at the end of this five-day period will win a brand new Chevy Aveo5 of their very own!

University of Maryland, College Park: Monday, Sept. 29-Sunday, Oct. 5
San Jose State University: Monday, Sept.29-Sunday, Oct. 5
University of South Florida: Monday, Oct. 13-Sunday, Oct. 19
University of Oregon: Monday, Oct. 13-Sunday, Oct. 19
University of Houston: Monday, Oct. 27-Sunday, Nov. 2
University of Washington: Monday, Oct. 27-Sunday, Nov. 2

How to hail the Aveo5 College Cab
If you’re over 18 years of age and a student at one of the six universities the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab will be visiting this fall, you’re eligible to take a ride in the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab when it makes a stop on your campus. Simply keep your eye out for the vehicle, and if its rooftop light is illuminated, wave at the Aveo5 College Cab to hail it as you would any other cab.

Up to two students can ride in the Aveo5 College Cab at a time for a free one-way ride up to three miles in distance. Upon exiting they’ll receive a stash of goodies and tips for getting as many people to view their video as possible.

How to make a good video
Like any video, the more entertaining, the more popular it is! Students who take a ride in the Chevy Aveo5 College Cab are encouraged to entertain viewers whether that means singing an original song, recounting an amusing story or simply exhibiting their outgoing personalities in an entertaining way.

How to get your video viewed
The www.AveoLivinLarge.com site makes it easy for you to share your video with as many people as possible! Once your video has been posted to www.AveoLivinLarge.com, you’ll see a link next to it that allows you to add the video to your Facebook or MySpace page. It also includes a “Send to a Friend” link and a button you can click to print a flyer containing your video’s unique URL that you can then post around campus. You can also add your video’s URL to your Twitter or Facebook status box. In addition, you should tell everyone you know to watch your video as many times as possible!
